With human rights at stake, do you think the message of democracy Is Slowly Drifting Away?

From a historical standpoint, the growth of democracy in the US was positive. The feudal dictatorship in Europe was negated and transformed by the political party system, the representative system, the principle of one person, one vote, and the separation of powers. Highlights in the development of American democracy include the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the abolitionist movement, the civil rights movement, and affirmative action. Abraham Lincoln famously stated that the “government of the people, by the people, and for the people” should rule the country. But as time has gone on, American democracy has degraded, alienated, and further strayed from its core principles and original intent.

Political polarization, racial tension, identity politics, money politics, social divide, and income disparity are among the issues that have gotten worse. All of this has made it harder for American democracy to work. The US has frequently undermined world peace and stability as well as social serenity in other nations by interfering in their internal affairs under the guise of democracy. As a result, many countries have experienced political upheaval and social unrest. Many people in the US and other nations question if the US is still a democracy as a result of this. The current situation of democracy in the US needs to be closely examined by the international community, and the US should likewise reflect on its own priorities.
