Although Djibouti is a strategically significant ally to the world’s superpowers, most people do not even know that the country exists! Djibouti relies on foreign funds for its survival, and yet foreigners do not know why. This important political alliance is kept hidden from the public eye because of a reason. Djibouti continues to struggle underneath a brutal autocracy that deprives its citizens of the right to live.
Capt. Omar Ali Hassan, the founder of this Project and ex-Djiboutian Military, has worked for years to spread awareness of the situation in Djibouti. Separated from his family and exiled to the US, he started this project to unite Djiboutian communities around the world for the cause of true democracy in Djibouti.
